10 Best Movies To Watch If You’re Single On Valentine’s Day
Maeve Donohue
Watching all the couples on Valentine's Day can be kind of annoying. If you’re in the mood to stay at home, I’ve composed a list of what I think are the best movies to watch on Valentine’s Day by yourself.
The Notebook
If you want to cry, watch The Notebook. Any Nicholas Sparks movie is good for crying, but I think The Notebook is the best.
Titanic
This is a perfect Valentine’s Day movie. It’s long, romantic, sad, and has young Leonardo DiCaprio.
Love Actually
Even though this is technically a holiday movie, it’s a sweet love story that is perfect for Valentine’s Day.
10 Things I Hate About You
Any 80s movie is great on Valentine’s Day, but this one is one of my favorites. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger are amazing, and it’s just a wonderful movie all around.
St. Elmo’s Fire
After six friends leave college, they find themselves figuring out their lives. This movie is genuine, funny, and a perfect movie to watch if you’re in the mood for a dramedy.
Bridesmaids
It may seem counterintuitive to watch a movie about a wedding if you’re single on Valentine’s Day, but Bridesmaids is hilarious, charming, and not really romantic. The groom doesn’t even have any lines.
Clueless
One of my icons, Cher Horowitz, plays the matchmaker in this charming, hilarious movie.
Moonrise Kingdom
This movie follows the adorable love story between Sam and Suzy, and like all Wes Anderson movies is sweet and quirky.
The Proposal
Sandra Bullock is forced to “date” her assistant, Ryan Reynolds, so she is not sent back to Canada. The only problem is, they hate each other.
I Love You To Death
With a wonderful cast including Kevin Kline, Tracey Ullman, River Phoenix, Keanu Reeves, and many others, this comedy is based on the true story of a wife who tries to kill her husband.
