Tomato Festival
Lucy Turner
A Nashville tradition since 2004, The Tomato Arts Festival was created by Meg and Brett MacFayden who own East Nashville’s Art and Invention Gallery. They started the festival to show off their own art and it continued to grow to be one of Nashville’s favorite annual festival. Local artists, inventors, and organizations all come together to showcase their ideas as well as bring a sense of community to East Nashville.
Nashville School of the Arts had their own fun at the festival with a student-run booth, monitored by Ms. Kindall and Ms. Spadafino, featuring our talented artists representing their conservatory. Sarah Hambridge and Elizabeth Pisarczyk were two featured singers representing the choir and guitar conservatories. Noah Forbes, piano, and Blaise Hearn, orchestra, entertained audiences with their instruments and Gray Bulla, the National Youth Poet Loriet, stunned the crowd with his original spoken word piece. All in all, NSA’s talented students beautifully represented this school’s diversity and celebration of the arts and each other.
