Top 4 Ways to Spend St. Patrick’s Day With Your Cat
Raegan Abrams
St. Patrick’s day is most typically known as the day where a bunch of self claimed Irish-Americans get dangerously intoxicated and party it up. The actual origin of the holiday comes from Ireland (duh) and is a cultural and traditional holiday that celebrates the death date of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. However, in America, March 17th is seen as a day to pinch people who aren’t wearing green, and to drink like the Irish. If you’re a normal person, you should probably disregard this article entirely, but if you’re anything like me and only want to spend time with your cat, or if you have no St. Paddy’s day plans, this is the article for you. Without further ado, here are 5 fabulous ways to spend the holiday with your cat.
Go to Mass With Your Furry Friend
It’s lesser known in America to go to church on the 17th, however if you want to celebrate like the Irish, it’s appropriate to go mass. It could be a little odd having your cat in a cathedral, but trust me it’ll be a religiously charged bonding experience.
Visit a Parade
It won’t be hard to find a parade on St. Patrick’s day, so throw your kitty on a leash and visit one! Not only will your kitty enjoy the sights and smells, but bringing your cat will make you the star of the show. Drunk Americans love cats! So don’t be afraid to venture out to a parade with your buddy this St. Patrick’s day.
Make Corned Beef and Cabbage
Don’t ask me for a recipe because I don’t have one, but the internet is a very informative and helpful place. This is a very classic Irish meal that can wrap up your St. Patrick’s day in the most perfet way. Your cat will especially love the beef aspect, and spending time and cooking with your kitty is a very healing and therapeutic experience.
A Gentle Pinch
You may choose to dress your cat up in green, but if your cat is anything like mine, there’s no way you’re getting clothes on him. Plus, it’s way more fun to not dress your cat and let me tell you why: you can pinch them. Not too hard, this is your cat we’re talking about, but a soft, gentle squeeze on the ear can make your cat feel more included on the holiday.
