How to Survive Nashville Heat
By Maeve Donohue
Nashville gets so hot over the summer, particularly around the end of July. All most people want to do is stay inside next to their air conditioners to try and make it until September, when it cools down.
Here are some ideas that will get you out of the house and will help you stay cool!
1. Get ice cream
Ice cream is delicious in the summer, and the coldness will help you cool down.
2. Go swimming
You can either swim at the YMCA, or see if a friend has a pool at their house. You can also take a day and go to Percy Priest or Old Hickory lake and swim there.
3. Rent a boat
At Center Hill Lake, you can rent boats and inner tubes. Take some friends and spend a day out there! It’s a bit of a long drive to get up there, but it’s totally worth it.
4. Go see some waterfalls
Drive out to Fall Creek Falls or Cummins Falls and spend the day hiking and swimming.
5. Go to Nashville Shores
Nashville Shores is a fun way to spend the day outside. You can go on waterslides, float on the lazy river, or go in the wave pool.
6. Go ice skating
What better way to stay cold then to be in an ice rink! It’s absolutely freezing in there, so it’s definitely going to keep you cool.
Hopefully these give you ideas to help you survive the Nashville heat this summer!
